About
I think the best product work happens at the boundaries — between design, engineering, and the people who actually have to use the thing.
I spent my first career as a motorsport engineer, where every decision gets tested against a lap time — not an opinion. When I moved into digital product, that habit came with me: I'm sceptical of ideas that sound good and haven't been tested against anything.
Fifteen years on, I've worked across frontend development, UX and product leadership — usually all three on the same project. That range turns out to be the useful part. A lot of product work fails quietly at the handoffs: the strategy that engineering can't build, the design that the business won't fund, the roadmap nobody on the ground believes in. Having sat in each of those seats, I'm reasonably good at spotting where that's about to happen.
Outside work I do triathlons badly but consistently, play guitar, and am slowly working through a hiking list of Victoria that's longer than I'd like to admit. I live in Melbourne.

Experience
Fifteen years moving between engineering and product.
A career spent shifting between writing the code, designing the interface, and deciding what to build in the first place — which turns out to be useful experience for the part where you have to lead all three.

What people say
A few words from people I've worked alongside.
I had the pleasure of working with Oliver at Sesimi, where he brought a ton of energy, curiosity and initiative with himself. He has a great passion for product and a sharp eye for user experience, always advocating for what's best for the end user while keeping the broader business goals in mind. Oliver wasn't afraid to ask the hard questions, explore bold ideas, or dive into problems with both creativity and rigour. He was driven, empathetic and product-minded through and through. I'd happily work with him again.

Let's talk
Have a complex product problem worth talking through?
I'm based in Melbourne and open to Senior Product Manager conversations. If you'd rather just trade notes on a hard product problem, that works too.
